Potential Prototyping
Journal post #3
a. Make a plan to explore your inquiry space by making a series of prototypes
b. Build your prototypes, and document each of them
What will my prototyping look like?
My midterm for HedonomicVR has become the base of what my thesis will be. I am considering this to be the first prototype of what will be one of MANY for my final project.
I was ambitious when I thought of the initial list of puzzle games the game would include but doing this has definitely helped me narrow down which ones I feel would be most beneficial.
Jigsaw Puzzle
Sudoku
Bananagrams
Hue Matcher
Even though my project is VR I am planning on making some LO-FI prototypes using paper and seeing how the testers interact with it
Questions for my next round:
What motions feel comfortable when working on these puzzles in a physical space?
What hand motions feels unnatural?
Does this need a community aspect? (aka group play?)
How does the game having music sound to you? (Users will be able to choose their music)
What do you look for most when you’re working on puzzles?
Another idea I had for research that just came to mind as I was writing this is placing a jigsaw puzzle on the floor (ITP 4th Floor) and leaving a QR code / Paper for those who interact to answer some questions for me
Do you enjoy puzzles?
Why / Why not?
What would make the experience more enjoyable?
Would you be interested in this experience in Virtual Reality?
